The Coalition for Responsible Evolution of AI (CoRE-AI) is a multi-coalition established in India to advocate for the responsible development and deployment of AI.

CoRE-AI aims to build public trust in AI by setting voluntary industry guidelines and contributing to robust regulatory frameworks. Its key objectives include fostering public-private , addressing algorithm biases, ensuring transparency, and protecting user privacy and data.
In an interview with The Hindu, the CoRE-AI coalition stated that it will adopt a "principles-based approach," utilising risk assessments to address AI challenges, develop guidelines, and contribute to a robust governance framework that fosters an innovative AI ecosystem in India.
S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (), reiterated the government's support for the initiative in a video message at the launch eventJaipur Wealth Management. "Government welcomes support, and interventions from a wide range of players who can bring the relevant information to the table on this aspect. And taking in all of these inputs, undoubtedly a robust framework will emerge where India will also be able to not just use AI for the benefit of its own people, but play a leadership role globally. I'm confident the CoRE-AI forum will contribute to this larger national goal,” he further added.
The launch of CoRE-AI comes at a time when India is actively shaping its AI strategy, with NITI Aayog's National Strategy for already identifying key areas for AI deployment and highlighting ethical considerations like fairness, transparency, and privacy.
